The Angler's Guild

About the Guild

An honest enterprise, conducted honestly.

The Angler's Guild is an in-character commercial company on the Catalyst SMP: a fishery first, with trade and banking departments growing from the same dockside discipline.

Who We Are

The Angler's Guild is a chartered company of fishers and merchants specializing first in the catch, processing, and sale of fish. In practical server terms, we are a roleplay group built around steady work, customer service, trade, outpost management, records, and character interaction.

We are headquartered in the faction of Divitiae Aeternum, where we operate our principal dockyard outpost, but the Guild is independent. Our agreements with host factions are commercial arrangements, not vassal relationships. We trade with every faction that will trade with us honestly.

What We Do

We catch fish by rod and line, prepare stock for sale, post clear prices, and staff Guild outposts where other players can buy goods, arrange trade, request customer banking services, or apply for employment. Members can keep things simple as Field Associates or work toward larger responsibilities over time.

Trade and banking are expansions of the Guild's public service, not replacements for the fishery. The catch remains the heart of the company.

Our Principles

Honest catch.

Every fish that bears the Guild's mark was caught by a Guild member, by hand, with rod and line. We do not use mechanical fishing systems, automated traps, or any method that produces fish without the labor of a fisher. We believe the quality of the catch begins with the integrity of the method.

Fair price.

Our prices are set to prevailing market value, posted publicly at every outpost and on this site. We do not undercut competitors to capture market share, and we do not raise prices when demand spikes. A buyer who comes to us this week pays the same as a buyer who comes next week, and both know what they will pay before they arrive.

Quality without exception.

Every batch of fish we sell is inspected before release. Anything that fails inspection is discarded. We would rather lose a day's sales than damage the trust a buyer places in our mark.

Every buyer welcome.

The Guild sells to any buyer who pays honestly, regardless of faction, alliance, or origin. Our role is commercial reliability: a buyer should know what we sell, what it costs, and where to find us.

Our people. The Guild stands by its members. We pay fair wages, on time. We look after those who are hurt on the job. We do not abandon our people to faction disputes, debt collectors, or trouble of any kind that comes to them while they are doing Guild work. In return, we ask of our members the same standard we hold ourselves to: honest work, performed honestly.

Guild Charter

Rod and line only.

Guild fish are caught by hand. We do not sell automated or trap-produced catch under the Guild mark.

Prices are posted.

Buyers should know the cost before they buy. Public prices are maintained on the site and at outposts.

Quality is inspected.

Stock that fails inspection does not go to the stall. The Guild mark should mean the buyer can trust the goods.

Employees are supported.

The Guild provides clear assignments, fair wages, and a place for members to grow into larger public responsibilities over time.

Our History

The Guild was founded by the Chief Executive Officer, Bravo, in cooperation with the Chief Financial Officer, Krisp, in the founding days of the Catalyst realm. The first outpost was established at the Divitiae Aeternum dockyard, giving the Guild a public place to sell, hire, and meet other players.

From that beginning, the Guild has grown deliberately. We open new outposts when the relationship with a host faction is sound, the roleplay has room to breathe, and the demand for Guild work warrants the investment.

Looking Ahead

The Guild's long-term ambition is a permanent home of its own: a settlement or town established under Guild charter, where members can live, work, and build stories together. That future is not immediate, but it is the direction of the institution.
